We are now looking for a suitable candidate to be at the forefront of our IT Operations. The purpose of this role will be to coordinate, build and maintain the operations of our ever evolving IT department, being responsible for Data Centers across several territories and overseeing all relevant aspects of IT Operations.
The main tasks / responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Global needs of the Data Centres and IT operations across the UK, and Asian offices.
Providing the strategic lead within the IT Operations and Networks division and providing financial management from a budgeting, forecasting and strategic perspective.
Primary day to day data centre and operations IT issues.
Managing the physical IT infrastructure, operations systems, hardware, network connectivity etc
Maintenance of databases across our worldwide business offices.
Identify and evaluate opportunities for development of infrastructure support practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement across the team.
Undertake performance appraisals for the assessment and development of staff within the IT Operations team including their technical and professional skills.
Managing and mentoring a team of devoted in-house and remote IT personnel and being responsible for their development as well as the development of the IT operations.
The successful Senior IT Manager must have experience of working in an organisation which is rapidly expanding, bringing dynamism and innovation to the workplace. You must have at least:
5+ years experience of IT Operations Management within a rapidly expanding organisation.
Experience of data centre planning and administration.
Can demonstrate extensive experience of storage planning and configuration with large scale hosting services.
Proven experience of leading the management of change - organisational, business and technical.
Shows vast knowledge of Network administration, including design, monitoring and management.
Data base administration and design of a large server farm environment.
Demonstrable financial management skills, including quantitative project financial appraisals, forecasting and budget setting.
Proven ability to rapidly establish credibility and influence at a senior management level, both internally and with customer departments
Analysis and management of SLAs across all disciplines.
It is essential that the post holder is:-
Educated to at least degree level in Computer Science or equivalent.
Has the desire and belief in their skills and ability to drive the business forward
Is experienced in the following technologies:
? Open source technologies (Linux, Tomcat, PHP, Java)
? Microsoft technologies
? Network technologies (Cisco, Juniper)
? Database technologies (Oracle, MS SQL and MySQL)
? Security technologies
